Copal- 7 inch Natural Fibers Baby Mushroom Gnome

Copal is a baby Mushroom gnome. Mushroom gnomes help plants and fungi grow by aiding them to absorb water and minerals. Baby mushroom gnomes can be a little difficult to take care of because they cannot always control their powers.

Copal is usually sleeping, so at least he's not touching everything all the time. He loves guavas, playing, and is not a big fan of the sun. I think he wants to be mostly in the dark so he can sleep better. I haven’t been able to get a good photo of him awake unless is of his back or just a blur of him jumping and running. When he’s awake, he just can’t stand still. He loves to play with and his play is so intense that I think that contributes to him just falling asleep right after.

Copal is a 7 inch natural fibers art doll. His skin is DWE in a red brown color. His body has been stuffed with clean carded wool and lightly needle felted. His head has been made in the classic Waldorf style with some needle felting to make it firmer. The head is not as floppy as my other dolls mostly because of his size. His legs and torso are one piece but the legs can bend to help him sit and pose. His arms have been hand sewn to his torso three times for extra strength. . His sleeping eyes have been hand embroidered with DMC cotton embroidery floss. Copal’s hair is a blonde wild brushable mohair crocheted wig cap that has been hand sewn to his head. This style of hair can be gently brushed. He has a sculpted belly button and a cute little tushie.

This dolls was made to be as sturdy as possible but some of his clothes and accessories are more delicate. That is the main reason it is considered an art dolls.

Copal is not a toy for small children. He is meant to be played only by children 7 and up that do not mouth their toys anymore and can play with his clothes gently. The clothes have snaps and buttons that can become choking hazards to small children.

Copal will go home with all the clothes and accessories you see in his photos. All clothes and accessories are handmade by me.
